Immerse yourself in the forefront of coastal science research, education and engagement Nov. 19-20 at the Bays and Bayous Symposium. During this two-day event, leading scientists, educators and coastal experts will converge to explore, share and learn about the unique ecosystems of the Gulf of Mexico.
Why attend?
The symposium, which began in 1979 as "Alabama's Bays, Bayous, and Beaches Symposium," has evolved over the years. It encompasses a broader scope, emphasizing the economic importance of coastal waters, education programs, and habitat restoration. Today, it stands as a biennial gathering that rotates between Biloxi, Mississippi, and Mobile, Alabama.
Organizers
The Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium, the Mobile Bay National Estuary Program and numerous partners come together to organize the event.
The Bays and Bayous Symposium does not have a designated hotel or room block, and there is not an on-site hotel. There are many hotels in the area, including the White House Hotel (Biloxi), Hyatt Place Biloxi and Courtyard by Marriott Gulfport Beachfront.
